Established by Kenzo Sujimoto, the founder of Capcom, the Kenzo Estate’s remote setting makes it one of the most romantic locations in Napa. Its vineyards, located inside a 3,800-acre natural preserve at 1550 elevation from Mount George, can make a visitor feel as if he/she is the only living person in the world up there. The estate provides a wide variety of wines, each with its unique characteristics, due to the vineyard's high-elevation and diverse terroir.

2) Radio-Coteau Winery

Next, on our list of the Top 10 wineries to visit in Napa and Sonoma, is the Radio-Coteau Winery.

Oenophiles cannot seem to stop themselves from praising Radio-Coteau Winery. Situated in Sonoma, the indie winery produces a variety of wines, including pinot noir, chardonnay, zinfandel, riesling, and syrah. Their sister wine label’s (County Line) dry rose remains a fan-favorite, with the New York Times calling it “The Best California Rose” in 1013.

3) Matthiasson

Moving on with our list of the Top 10 wineries to visit in Napa and Sonoma, we have the Mathiasson winery.

Located in Napa, Matthiasson is an ideal winery to visit for people looking for a thoughtfully paced and intimate visit. The winery produces wines like Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and rare wines like Ribolla Giala and Refosco. Their aforementioned wines are high acid and food-friendly.

4) Benovia Winery

Situated just outside the city of Santa Rosa, lies the Benovia Winery. Founded in 1005 by husband and wife duo Joe Anderson and Mary Dewane, the winery is named after Joe’s favorite airplane model the 1940 Douglas DC-3 also known as “The Spirit of Benovia.”

This winery is a brand new addition to Napa’s ever-growing roster of wineries. Ashes & Diamonds offer a wide variety of wines that possess characteristics of light-handed winemaking and transparency of terroirs. The winery is best known for its selection of whites.

6) Paul Mathew Vineyards

Paul Mathew Vineyards and tasting room are situated near Bodega Bay on Sonoma County’s Pacific coast. Owner Paul Mathew, his wife Barbara, and winemaker Pat Gustafson work hard every day to create wines with taste and nuance. Their winery’s Valdiguie pairs well with fish, poultry, and red meat. Paul Mathew’s Ruxton Vineyard Pinot Noir is lauded by visitors as well.

7) Crocker & Starr

The Crocker & Starr winery reflects the unusual partnership between Charlie Crocker and Pam Starr. The duo established the winery with a common goal of restoring the historic Crocker Vineyard Estate and producing great wines from its exceptional terroir. Crocker & Starr has been a long-standing fixture of Napa’s long list of wineries.

8) Lynmar Estate

Founded in 1990 by husband & wife, Lynn and Anisya Fritz, the Lynmar Estate is a winery built for visitors to enjoy great wines and good food. The winery’s terrace overlooking the Quail Hill Vineyard and the Sonoma foothills makes it one of the most beautiful tasting rooms California has to offer. Lynmar offers a farm-to-table lunch menu along with a wine bar with a food menu.

10) Littorai Vineyards Winery

Moving on with our list of the Top 10 wineries to visit in Napa and Sonoma, we have the Littorai Vineyards Winery.

Ted Lemmon, the owner of Littorai, was the first American winemaker to work at Domaine Roulot, one of the biggest wineries in Burgundy. After his stint in Burgundy, Lemmon came back to the states and established the Littorai in 1993. The catalog of wines offered at the Littorai is heavily inspired by French wines in their elegance and subtlety. Visitors recommend taking part in the vertical tasting sessions to have a fully immersive experience.
